The weaving traditions of Laos are disappearing. Factory imports have pulled artisans away from their looms and their livelihoods. SLATE + SALT works directly with village artisan groups to create pieces that honor traditional techniques while generating fair, sustainable income — keeping the value, and the craft, in the community.
The Sierra clutch is handwoven and hand-dyed using saa (mulberry bark), with natural fibers and dyes throughout. Lined with remnant fabric — nothing wasted, everything intentional.
